SIMP-DRIVE ®

With standard hydraulic drives, the scroll base speed and the response threshold of the analog control are manually adjusted at the control block of the hydraulic pump unit.

In case of the SIMP-DRIVE ® the required scroll torque and torque limits are set at the controller.

The scroll speed is automatically controlled by the hydraulic unit; rate of rise or decline and response sensitivity are not adjustable.

Electronic remote control for hybrid drives

The newly developed controller allows remote control and adjustment of the scroll speed on centrifuges provided with hydraulic drives or with SIMP-DRIVES® .

Simple programming steps enable the controller to respond precisely to a multitude of controlling tasks and ensure optimum performance of the centrifuge even under varying feed conditions. Through a number of I/O's it can also communicate with a master control system (DCS).

In the case of hydraulic drives, the operator selects the hydraulic operating pressure (equals scroll speed) suitable for achieving a desired solids content of the discharged cake. The controller utilizers the signal from a hydraulic pressure transmitter and controls the system pressure via regulating valves.

On SIMP-DRIVE ® machines the desired torque value for the electric scroll drive motor is set at the controller which then controls the power output of the scroll drive frequency inverter.
