QB Mixer
The next step in mixing technology

Dissolving or dispersing powders in liquid without forming lumps is a difficult task. Very often the products are sensitive to mechanical treatment and they easily break down if the shearing force is too high. QB Mixing System is the result from combining three unique designs, the cubical tank, the dispersing tool and the powder inlet

The cubical tank

The cubical tank Building a cubical tank with one of its corners facing downwards has proved to have a number of advantages. Mass rotation is avoided as inner walls act as baffles.Product surface exposed to atmosphere is minimized. The design reduces vortex, air incorporation and makes the tank fully drainable. The design also makes it ideal for producing small quantities even when using larger tanks.

Options

Tank volumes:     100-4000 litres
Materials:              AISI 304 or AISI 316
Tank pressures Atmospheric or full vacuum and 3 bar g.
Tank design Uninsulated, insulated or jacket

Dispersion tool

The dispersion tool is designed as a high speed-rotating knife. This gives a low shear rate without lumping and with a minimum of energy input. The blades are connected hygienically to the shaft, allowing a flexible height adjustment. Since the drive is mounted on top of the tank, there are no bearings and seals in contact with the product.

Powder inlet

The powder inlet is using an integrated scrubber with an exact defined interface between wet and dry. This avoids powder filters in wet area and clogging problems in powder feed lines.

Applications

Typical applications are mixing ingredients for desserts, Sauces, soups, pharmaceuticals or pet food. A QB Mixer is available for product trials in our pilot plant, or in your factory.

QB Food Tech has designed and installed processing systems for the food and pharmaceutical industries in Northern Europe since 1986. The innovative spirit that permeates the company has led to unique product developments, especially in mixing technology.

Standard designed systems

Depending on required capacities and local conditions, we are offering this unique mixer in three standardized systems, with tank volumes ranging from 100 to 4,000 litres. Each system is factory assembled, and supplied with pneumatics and pre-wired control system.

Batch mixing, with external buffer tanks
This is an economical solution where
a relative small mixing tank is used,
and the batch size depends on the size
of the buffer tanks. Oneor several liquids
and powders can be mixed.
Batch mixing with two mixers
This is a system where the mixers
works "flip - flop". The batch size
is depending on the size of the QB
Mixers. One or several liquids and
powders can be mixed.
Continuous mixing
This is a solution where one liquid
is continuously mixed with one or
several powders. This design could
be used for example to add vitamins,
calcium and iron to fruit juices just
before an aseptic filling machine.
